Project Description
Millionaires Group of casinos pledged R100 000 in support of Yenzani Childrens Home for Atomic Gaming’s Cliff Lamberton to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest point.
Cliff Lamberton – Managing Director of Atomic Gaming and African Casino Equipment Suppliers (ACES) – finished the journey of climbing Kilimanjaro at 5400m, roughly 500m from Uhuru Peak, the tip of Kilimanjaro before turning back on summit day. Unknown at the time, Cliff had cardiac issues that limited the flow of oxygen to the muscles especially at high altitude. Cliff embarked on the Kili Climb adventure with his son Lance (16), a grade 11 learner from King Edward VII School. Lance suffered from altitude sickness that limited his ability to continue the climb on day 3 causing him to return to base camp.
